I was surprised and a little relieved to find two movies from Fox on the doorstep this week. I figured after my review of 30 Nights Of Paranormal Activity With The Devil Inside The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, that they would never let me watch, let alone review another film of theirs. I was wrong. When Crystal said that they wanted honest reviews, I guess she wasn’t lying.
Luckily for me, I don’t need to find out how many pans I’m allowed before I get cut off. Well not yet, anyhow. This little short was gratifying to say the least. I really got a kick out of it and watched it twice, because I wanted to make sure I caught the whole thing. All 22 minutes of it.
Yes it’s short, and I would have loved a full length film of this, but hey, what can you do? Appeal to [easyazon_link identifier=”0811809722″ locale=”US” tag=”granligh-20″]Lucasfilm[/easyazon_link] ([easyazon_link identifier=”B0034KJCVQ” locale=”US” tag=”granligh-20″]Disney[/easyazon_link]) for them to make a longer version for me? Probably not. I can’t say what the exact response would be, but I’m sure “fuck your hat” would be in there. Either way, the 22 minutes was enough for me to want to watch the previous installment(s) of this, and certainly look forward to some more.
When I saw the Ages 6+ on the cover, I was a bit skeptical, but from the starting scene I knew there would be enough parody to keep me, and probably any fan of the franchise giggling. I assume the pratfalls and general silliness of it would appeal to kids too, but I’m not one, so I can’t say for sure. I don’t know how receptive a non-nerd would be to it, but of the two scenes that I made Mrs. B watch, she giggled at one. That’s fairly good, right? She also had a little chuckle as I was yammering on about what [easyazon_link identifier=”B00M1SUXGA” locale=”US” tag=”granligh-20″]Darth Maul[/easyazon_link] was saying to [easyazon_link identifier=”B00SD8I8XW” locale=”US” tag=”granligh-20″]Darth Vader[/easyazon_link], and about [easyazon_link identifier=”B004JZFCEG” locale=”US” tag=”granligh-20″]Darth Vader[/easyazon_link] having a bad day. I’d like to think that she thought it was funny, but it was probably just my boyish charm that really made her happy.
I’m not going to give anything away, so I’ll end it here, but they also sent me some memes for the film, and a little writeup thing that I’ll try to get up here… Nope, looks like it’s just going to be some graphics for you.
Dun dun dun duun dun dun duun dun dun,
